Representatives from Twr y Felin Hotel complete a successful trip to Slovenia
As part of the ‘Putting People First’ programme, a Welsh Government and Visit Wales funded initiative, two young delagates travelled with Group General Manager of Twr y Fein Hotel, Roch Castle and Penrhiw Hotel, Paula Ellis to Slovenia at the end of October 2016 to experience an interesting range of hospitality businesess.
Representatives from Pembrokeshire businesses Twr y Felin Hotel, Roch Castle, Penrhiw Hotel, Bluestone Wales, Folly Farm and Celtic Holiday Parks, PLANED and Pembrokeshire College explored ways that Pembrokeshire can enhance its success as a tourist destination.
Led by Professor Terry Stevens from Swansea University’s School of Management and recently appointed expert on tourism and sport by the UN World Tourism Organisation, delegates met those involved in Slovenia’s tourism development.
Recognised by the UN World Tourism Organisation as an ‘exemplar destination’, Slovenia has become one of Europe’s leading tourist destinations in the last 15 years and with a similar population size to Wales, the Welsh government aims to replicate the country’s success.
